Should the Host Family requires the Au Pair to drive is under their entire responsibility. Families need to think about it very carefully as the Au Pair will be driving their children around.

It is responsibility of the Host Family to ensure, prior acceptance, that their Au Pair has a suitable driving license to drive in their country and also that she has enough experience.

The Host Family must pay all vehicle expenses (e.g. gas, insurance, repairs, etc) and should not expect their Au Pair pays for any damage caused to it. Please ensure that you have appropriate cover on your car insurance thinking that you must cover your Au Pair properly in case of an accident and also cover any damage caused to your vehicle.

Driving Au Pairs are taking extra responsibilities and they should be paid for it. They should be paid 15€/20€ more per week.

Host Families may consider allowing their Au Pair the use of the car for personal purpose; in this case, the Au Pair shall pay for the gas spent while using the car.

Au Pairs citizens of the EU, the EEA and Switzerland are allowed to drive in any of these countries with their local driving license as long as it remains valid. If they were not, then they can drive for one year with the International license after which, they must take the driving test of the host country.

Families living in the UK should provide a couple of driving lessons for the Au Pair as they are not used to drive on the left.

PREMIER AU PAIRS shall not be liable in any respect with regard to this matter.
