Au Pair can be a citizen from any country as long as she fulfils the legal requirements demanded by the authorities of the host country.

The citizens of the EU, the EEA and Switzerland just need their passport or ID card to aupairing in any of these countries.  If they were not, they will need a visa issued by the Consulate of the country chosen.

Only citizens of the EU, EEA and Switzerland are allowed to enter in Spain as an Au Pair. Candidates who do not hold a passport from any of these countries will need a tourist visa for a 3 months stay and a student visa for a longer stay.
